I do think it’s positive that 2/3 of these ticket buyers, even at the cheap price, were new buyers. And if they can convert them into return buyers, there might be some gain. But that conversion is key, and it will depend on the kind of experience the buyer has when they actually come to the opera…
It will also be interesting to see how many tickets are used at all. If one of the key reasons to do this is to fill the hall - which feels better for everyone, no doubt - and half of the crazy cheap tickets aren’t used, then where are you?

Though if they will return only at that crazy low price, I don’t think much headway is being made
Even if every one of them returns, if it is only at the new prices the company is taking a permanent annual loss of revenue

I’m afraid that for most people, ticket prices would need to be negative.
