Travels

with gratitude

Two things:

First, having been reading and writing on Substack for just shy of two years, I want to thank my followers and readers for taking the time to read my posts. I know there is a lot to keep up with in the world, and there are many very fine writers on this site, so I am grateful you are willing to spend a few minutes every now and then reading my posts: it means a lot to me! I am also thankful for the writers I follow: I’ve learned so much about the state of the arts and education, books and movies and ideas. I keep a hope that one day I might even see some of you in person.

Second, I am about to take a month of travel. Since I was a teenager I’ve wanted to see Turkey and Greece, and now I’m finally going to get around to it. Big cities and not so big, ancient and modern, and some time on the islands, including the pilgrimage to Hydra all aspiring Canadian singer-songwriters must make. I won’t be trying to post anything until after I am back, but I haven’t abandoned this blog.
